Hard Truths about a cybersecurity career

You have to take care of yourself because no one else would do it for you

Hard Truths about a cybersecurity career
My ergonomic keyboard (Kinesis Advantage 2) and mouse (MX Vertical)

Do/use the following if you don't want any pain in your 30/40s:

  1. Ergonomic chair: Herman Millers are expensive but worth every dollar
  2. Ergonomic keyboard: non-ortholinear split keyboard (I use Kinesis Advantage 2)
  3. Lift heavy weight 3 times a week: focus on training back, shoulders (deltoid)
  4. Stretch after exercise and before bed (and use a foam roller)
  5. 150+ mins of zone 2 cardio a week
  6. Take a walk every 30 mins for rest and new ideas

The same goes for any office jobs.

You don't have to destroy yourself to earn.
You just need to be well informed and put in effort consistently.

Play the long game.
Stop sacrificing your health for a company that doesn't care.
