- Computers make your notes searchable
- Pen & paper helps you not get stuck on difficult topics
- Use colors
- Use editor themes and colored pens to make colorful headings
- Helps you skim faster, more enjoyable note taking
- Keep it ugly
- Your notes are supposed to be ugly
- Don't waste time polishing them for designer awards
As someone who has wasted hours trying to take "good" notes:
90% of the effort is just procrastination.
Because it's the easiest lie to tell yourself you're making progress.
Instead, use that time to get more practice and understand topics deeper.
Your future self will thank you.
