Reject Most Advice
My take on people asking for roadmaps in cybersecurity.

I won’t hand you a 10-step roadmap to break into cybersecurity.
There’s no universal cert path.
No perfect job-hunting checklist.
No guaranteed “do this, get hired” playbook.
People who sell them often tell you the opposite.
But here’s the truth:
I don’t know you.
I don’t know how much time you can dedicate to learning.
I don’t know how much prior experience you have.
I don’t know how obsessed you are with hacking.
And that’s fine.
Cybersecurity is a choose-your-own-adventure game.
You won’t find the path written out.
You’ll have to carve it yourself.
What worked for me?
Might be a total disaster for you.
All I can share is what I’ve seen, what I’ve done, what I’ve learned.
Question it. Apply selectively. Throw out what doesn’t fit.
Then build your own path.
Because the skill all of us have is to "figure things out".
Outsourcing it on day 0 is not going to help you learn it.
If you are questioning this post,
congrats on taking your first step.
